H.O.U.S.E. Liaison
Under 110 ILCS 131/10 (a) Hebrew Theological College (Touro University Illinois) offers assistance and resources to any student enrolled at the institution dealing with homelessness. Rabbi Gavriel Bachrach, Registrar, serves as the HOUSE liaison. As such, HTC (Touro University Illinois) disseminates, as needed, information regarding the financial aid eligibility of homeless students, including eligibility as an independent student under the federal Higher Education Act of 1965, identifies services and resources that are available for a homeless student and assists homeless students or students in care in applying for and receiving federal and State financial aid and available services. The college grants priority for on-campus housing to students experiencing homelessness and students in care who are enrolled at the institution, including during academic breaks, and waives fees for the on-campus housing during academic breaks. HTC tracks and monitors the graduation rate and retention rate of homeless students as needed. HTC (Touro University Illinois) provides homeless students and students in care information about support services, including on-campus and off-campus housing, food and meal plan programs, and counseling services, and other resources and information regarding local institutions that provide a continuum of care program.
