April DeMito is a lifelong Illinois native. Dr. DeMito has 30 years of nursing experience and has an extensive academic history working at Northern Illinois University, Resurrection University and Chamberlain College. Most recently Dr. DeMito was the FNP Program Director at Olivet Nazarene University, and currently works as a family nurse practitioner for Advocate Medical Group.

Dr. DeMito received her master’s degree from Northern Illinois University and her DNP from Chamberlain College. Dr. DeMito is an ANCC certified Family Nurse Practitioner. In 1996, Dr. DeMito received the March of Dimes Perinatal Nurse of the Year award. She is a member of the Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nurses and the American Association of Advanced Practice Nurses.

Dr. DeMito strives to incorporate innovative learning techniques into the online classroom and is dedicated to the success of all our Touro students.
